Small Business Saturday for PSL

Small Business Saturday is a yearly event that started as a response to the infamous Black Friday, and the slightly less terrifying Cyber Monday. These huge shopping days were mostly focused on big box chain stores and the before Christmas deals offered within. However, this left out a lot of small businesses, brick and mortar operations from the buzz. This is, of course, where we come in!

We have a soft spot for this shopping holiday, not only because we own and operate our own small business, but because it was created by people living not very far at all from our shop. The first ever Small Business Saturday was held in Roslindale, Mass in 2010. It means a lot to us, on so many levels, to see our community come together so enthusiastically in the support of small operations such as ours.

Guess what else is exciting? This past Small Business Saturday was the largest and most impressive in the history of the occasion. In honor of this, we here at Pearl Street thought a big thank you was in order for the people who’ve patronized us during our nearly thirty years of serving the community…. And we’ve decided to get in on the action.  We’ve added a page to our website with merchandise and are starting to sell items we use every day and that are either eco-friendly or give back in some way.  We’ve got 2-in-1 reusable dry cleaning and garment bags as well as Toys for Tots lint rollers.  In the coming weeks, we hope to add Woolzies dryer balls, homemade linen spray and laundry bags made out of natural canvas!

We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings, and we could never have made it as far as we have without the fine men and women of our neighborhood. We hope you will continue to come and see us for all your laundry needs, and keep the spirit of small business alive for many Saturdays to come.

Thanks again, and a very sincere Happy Holidays from your friends and neighbors here at Pearl Street Laundry!
